Nutrition is important at Bilingual Child Academy.
Bilingual Child Academy menu is designed by our staff Nutritionist & Dietitian working on a program to promote a healthier lifestyle for children in an effort to reduce sugar levels by increasing fresher vegetables, fruits and more protein in their daily diets.
Bilingual Child Academy USES:
- 100% Olive oils and/or Coconut Oils for cooking
- Full fat milk and dairy products
- Fresh vegetables and fruits in season (never canned fruits with syrups)
- More proteins
Bilingual Child Academy is making a commitment to reduce or eliminate:
- No Margarine or hydrogenated products
- No Vegetable oils
- No Canned fruit full of syrup
- No Canned vegetables
- No fruit juices
- Less processed foods such as: cookies, crackers, cereals full of sugar and preservatives
Meals served are Breakfast, Lunch and PM Snacks designed to reduced times children have elevated glucose levels. Giving children enough times between meals to form an appetite for the next healthy meal.
Full Time students will be offered a full breakfast, a healthy lunch and healthy mid afternoon snack. Children arriving after breakfast should come to school on a filling breakfast.
Day School Students will receive a healthy and nutritious lunch. Please ensure they arrive at school having received a healthy and filling breakfast.
Staff Nutritionist Bio:
Liliana Cano is our on staff nutritionist. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition & Dietology from the University of Guadalajara. Her experience includes working as team with the National Mexico Education Council (SEP) on their school nutrition programs. Ms. Cano was also the Chief Nutritionist at Hospital 2000 in Guadalajara Mexico monitoring special diets and designing patient menus.
