Job description

​

Bilingual Child Academy is looking for an assistant director at one of our 3 locations.  BCA has 3 locations in San Antonio TX.

The centers are Spanish Immersion and candidates must be bilingual fully be able to speak and write in both English and Spanish. Candidates must already have or be able to quickly obtain the Director Credentials.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the child care center
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs and activities along with Curriculum Director.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Supervise and support child care staff
- Maintain open communication with parents and address any concerns or questions
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards
- Manage budgets, shopping for school needs, and financial records related to the child care center

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a child care setting

• Strong knowledge of child development principles and practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Create a school culture that is professional and welcoming to teachers

• Friendly and warm with parents and families.

• Ability to lead and motivate a team of child care professionals

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Knowledge of state licensing requirements for child care centers

Education or Experience:

• Bachelors degree in either business or child development or education, but with experience in a childcare environment.

• OR - A CDA with experience in administration or office in a school.

• We utilize Excel and Child Care management software, so the candidate must be comfortable with computers, doing newsletters and menus.

The job requires an 9-10 hour day. We offer 2 weeks PTO and paid holiday for closures. However a school director is often on call to receive texts from teachers or handle some emails off hours. Not much but they have to be available. We have a Curriculum Director and School counselor that travels between schools to ensure all three centers maintain continuity. Owners are very involved and often on site.

Salary is non-negotiable. The pay is exactly $50,000 per year with 2 weeks PTO, paid holidays and possible bonus yearly depending on center success.
